My feelings:

As if trying to fit in at a new school isn't stressful enough, sixteen-year-old Nikki Donovan just found out that her long-lost father is, in fact, the demon king of the Shadowlands—the world that separates and protects us from the Underworld. When she is brought there by the mysterious—and surprisingly cute—messenger Michael, she learns that her father is dying, and he wants her to assume the throne. To complicate matters, a war is brewing between the Shadowlands and the Underworld, her half-demon qualities are manifesting, and her growing feelings for Michael are completely forbidden. Ruling a kingdom, navigating a secret crush, and still making it home by curfew—what's a teenage demon princess to do?

My Review:
I really fell in love with that shiny cover and wanted to have the book as soon as possible. Yes, talk about cover love. Okay, so that wasn’t the only reason I wanted to read this book, it was also the damn nice description of the story. I’m glad I bought it, because it did not disappoint me at all.

The story begins with Nikki telling us how she moved to a new city, after her mother married guy number four. Mom, not the romantic type keeps marrying the wrong men and as you can expect moves around allot when she discovers how big a loser they are. When a guy at school keeps looking at Nikki, she starts to feel uneasy. On her way home he approached her and tells her she needs to go back with him to the Shadow lands. From here on the story goes very fast, allot of things where happening that made the story really addicted. I thought Nikki was a very brave and fun character. After all I would scream like a little girl, run in the opposite direction and never ever talk to him again. But Nikki didn’t do those things and finds out the truth about her absent father.

The story is fun, quick and very light. And even though you know who the villain is from the start, you still want to know how Nikki is going to kick ass with it and if she can be with the guy she loves. I can’t wait for the sequel, I’ve been seeing the cover around and the creators have again done a great job with it.
