My Feelings:

Bewitching can be a beast. . . .

Once, I put a curse on a beastly and arrogant high school boy. That one turned out all right. Others didn’t.

I go to a new school now—one where no one knows that I should have graduated long ago. I’m not still here because I’m stupid; I just don’t age.

You see, I’m immortal. And I pretty much know everything after hundreds of years—except for when to take my powers and butt out.

I want to help, but things just go awry in ways I could never predict. Like when I tried to free some children from a gingerbread house and ended up being hanged. After I came back from the dead (immortal, remember?), I tried to play matchmaker for a French prince and ended up banished from France forever. And that little mermaid I found in the Titanic lifeboat? I don’t even want to think about it.

Now a girl named Emma needs me. I probably shouldn’t get involved, but her gorgeous stepsister is conniving to the core. I think I have just the thing to fix that girl—and it isn’t an enchanted pumpkin. Although you never know what will happen when I start . . . bewitching.

My Review:
After watching Beastly, I wanted to know more about Kendra. She was the only character I was interested in while watching the movie and I was happy to find out that Bewitching was about her.

I want to tell you all about Kendra, but unfortunately there isn’t much to tell. We only get (short) glimpses to see of her past life as a witch. I wished there was more of this, because I really liked her *flashbacks*. I loved the flashback she has of the Titanic and the Little Mermaid. Those chapters stood out for me!

Emma is the other character in the book. She’s smart, lonely and just want a friend. And because she's  a bit desperate, she kind of accepts the awful things her *evil* stepsister does to her. So sad. I wanted her to stand up for herself and be a little more brave. I couldn’t connect with her or feel any sympathy towards her.

I liked the plot. As I said before: the flashbacks were so much fun and I wanted to read more of that. The story from Emma was interested too. In the end the story went in another direction than I thought it would go and I loved it. The happily ever after was certainly there!

Ps: I do hope that the third book in the Kendra Chronicles is going to be more about Kendra!
& it isn’t necessary to read the first book in the chronicles before you start with Bewitching.
